In this Portfolio I want to find out how they keep cattle in Australia and what there is different about Australian live-stock relative to Danish live-stock

Which cattle breeds is there in Australias milk prodution?

Dairy production

Holstein:



It is a cattle breed there is known as "the black-brindled cow" in Denmark.
It is a popular breed because it produce a lot of milk, about 10.000 L a year. 
It weight about a ton.

Jersey:


It's call the same in Danish
It is popular because it gives a fat milk, which is good to butter or chease.
It is the smallest milking breed, it only weight 500 kg

Aussie red:


medium-size dairy cow. the milk has a high protein content, and is also a little fat.
I think it looks and sound like the danish "red-brindled cow"

Illawarra:


It is a breed there only is in Australia.
It produce very much milk, up to 40 L a day. 10 L more than the Holstein.
The breed is very new, it developed first in 1910.


Brown swiss:

It is popular all over the world. 
It's a good strong cow, who gives about 9000 L milk a year

Guernsey


It produce about 22 L a day
It gives golden milk naturally 











Ayrshire:


It were imported to Australia in 1850.
