How do they keep cattle in Australia?

Milk production

In Australia they have a milk production there looks a lot like in Denmark.
In Australia and in Denmark we have the dairy cattle in big barn, there they can move around an have a little area they they can lie down and eat. as you can se at the picture.

I Australia they also milking a lot like we do, with
the same types of milking machines and systems.











There is three overall types of systems:

1. milking pit
2. milking carousel
3. and robots

1. Milking pit:
It is like a passage there is lower than the normal flor, and then the cows stands on the nomal high flor, so you don't have to bend down to set the milking machine at the udder.


2. Milking carousel
It is actually a real carousel, it is higher than the normal flor, so you stands in a good high then you put the machine on. Then you have set it on, the cow move futher and a new comes in. then cow is done, it goes out in the end of the carousel.


A milking carousel is popular in Australia, because it is the fastest way to milk a lot of cows and they can have many cows to milk at same time.

3. robots
It is the new. the cow can go in to it then it want to be milk, and the robot do it all, it is very smart.

Meat production

The meat production in Australia is a lot like in Denmark also.
They keep the cattle in big creases like we do in Denmark, the different is that the creases often is bigger because the land in Australia not is perfekt for plants always, they have much land that can't be cultivated.
That land they call Rangeland














Then the cattle weights  more than 300 kg they move them to feedlots, there they gets feed-up faster.

There they don't have so much space.
